【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversthestaticteartestofaluminumalloyproductsusingspecimensthatare0.040in.(1mm)to0.250in.(6.35mm)thick.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletoaluminumalloyproductshavingaminimumthicknessof0.040in.(1mm).1.3Thistestmethodprovidesameasureofbothnotchtoughnessandresistancetocrackpropagationwiththeprimaryuseasascreeningormeritranktest.1.4Thereliabilityoftheteartesthasbeenestablishedinvariousresearchprogramsbyreasonablygoodcorrelationsbetweendatafromtheteartestsandfracturetoughnesstests.Note18212;DirectmeasurementoffracturetoughnessmaybemadeinaccordancewithPracticesB645,B646andTestMethodE399.1.5Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
