【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedeitherasanindextestorasaperformancetestusedtodetermineandcomparetheflowrateperunitwidthofoneorseveralcandidategeosyntheticsunderspecificconditions.Thistestmethodmaybeusedasanindextestforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentsofgeosyntheticsbutcautionisadvisedsinceinformationonbetween-laboratoryprecisionofthistestmethodisincomplete.Comparativetestsasdirectedin5.2.1maybeadvisable.Incaseofadisputearisingfromdifferencesinreportedtestresultswhenusingthistestmethodforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments,thepurchaserandthesuppliershouldfirstconfirmthatthetestswereconductedusingcomparabletestparametersincludingspecimenconditioning,normalstress,seatingperiod,hydraulicgradient,testwatertemperature,etc.,thenconductcomparativeteststodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweentheirlaboratories.Competentstatisticalassistanceisrecommendedfortheinvestigationofbias.Asaminimum,thetwopartiesshouldtakeagroupoftestspecimensthatareashomogenousaspossibleandthatareformedfromalotofthematerialofthetypeinquestion.Thetestspecimensshouldthenberandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratoryfortesting.TheaverageresultsfromthetwolaboratoriesshouldbecomparedusingtheStudent''st-testforunpaireddataandanacceptableprobabilitylevelchosenbythetwopartiesbeforethetestingisbegun.Ifbiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrectedorthepurchaserandsuppliermustagreetointerpretfuturetestresultsinlightoftheknownbias.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheprocedurefordeterminingtheflowrateperunitwidthwithinthemanufacturedplaneofgeosyntheticsundervaryingnormalcompressivestressesandaconstanthead.Thetestisintendedprimarilyasanindextestbutcanbeusedalsoasaperformancetestwhenthehydraulicgradientsandspecimencontactsurfacesareselectedbytheusertomodelanticipatedfieldconditions.1.2Thistestmethodislimitedtogeosyntheticsthatallowcontinuousin-planeflowpathstooccurparalleltotheintendeddirectionofflow.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesstatedinparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
